2 September: Atul Sharma (16) fell to his death while cleaning a 40-feet-high boiler at Dalmia Bharat’s Sugar Mill in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur.
4 September: Mithilesh Rajvanshi was charred to death and six others were injured in a fire following an explosion at a cloth manufacturing factory of Jakharia Fabric in Boisar in Maharashtra’s Palghar district.
5 September: Ganesh (21) and Thayappa Dhandgule (45) died and another person was injured when an under-construction building caved in at Petbasheerabad in Hyderabad.
6 September: Gurunanhe Prasad (20) and Daya Chavda (30) were asphyxiated to death while cleaning a sewer line pumping station in Gandhidham town of Kutch district. The police registered a case of accidental death saying that the workers “fell in” and died.
10 September: Vivek Kumar (22) and Ashok Yadav (32) died after an iron gas burner exploded in a factory in outer Delhi’s Nangloi. No fire safety equipment was provided to the workers and the police booked the factory owner for causing death by negligence.
13 September: Muthukrishnan (40) and Sulthan (25) were asphyxiated to death while cleaning the water sump of an under-construction building in Choolaimedu, Tamil Nadu. The police registered a case against the contractor and the land owner.
13 September: Vilas (50) died and another person suffered injuries after a portion of a ceiling fell on them while they were repairing an under-construction factory in Loni, Ghaziabad.
14 September: Husenappa (28) died after falling through a concrete channel lift on the fourth floor while working at the building extension of a hospital in Hyderabad’s Nacharam.
14 September: Ibrahim (45) and Aslam (21) and a 15-year-old child suffocated to death overnight at a puff making unit of UK-based Food Firm in Ahmedabad. The police registered a case of accidental death.
14 September: Ramdas Gautam (22) died after falling in the lift duct while carrying cement bags on the 11th floor of an under-construction building in Maharashtra’s Thane district.
18 September: A 40-year-old worker died after the roof lintel at a sheet-metal factory in Delhi’s Okhla collapsed on him. Workers had repeatedly requested the factory owner to repair the lintel. The police registered a case of death by negligence.
20 September: Maroti Rama Chopwad (30) and Vyakanti Ghumalwad died while performing clearing work in a sewer tank in Mukhed town in Maharashtra’s Nanded district. The police filed a case of sudden death saying that the workers “lost balance and fell inside”.
26 September: Saleem and Karthik died and three others were injured after concrete slabs at an under-construction building crashed on them near Pottammal in Kerala’s Kozhikode.
27 September: Three workers of ThyssenKrupp Elevator Co died in an accident while carrying out elevator maintenance work at a Vedanta ESL unit in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district.
